Android has the very powerful - and commonly used Navigation Drawer, but it was ripped out from Pocket Casts 7 to replace it with the terrible iOS-style tab bar. So - by unifying the design - it appears iOS won out. At first glance, that sounds like a good idea - except that Android and iOS have different design guidelines, and different action and navigation philosophies. I suppose the correct way to frame from issue with Pocket Casts 7 is that they unified the design across both the Android and iOS versions. Yes, Google/Android more recently has also had Bottom Navigation as an official Material Design option - but that style of navigation has historically been primarily an iOS paradigm. They replaced the powerful Android-native Navigation Drawer with an iOS-style Tab Bar. So, here's what I mean by it appearing to now just be an iOS app clone.
